Jack Hammond, 68, died Sunday May 22, 2016 after a long illness of 7 years. He retired from Chrysler in New Castle in 2000. He enjoyed traveling and loved his grandchildren dearly. He was a contributing researcher for on-line military publication sites.

Jack is survived by his wife Margaret “Peggy” Hammond; mother Josephine Hammond; son John (Jenny) Hammond; nephew Jimmy (Angie) Hammond; 5 grandchildren; and sister-in-law Lynnette Siler.

He is preceded in death by his father Cecil Hammond and brother Steven Hammond.

The family will be holding private services at a later date.
